Video Games Vs Movies: Two Different Things Entirely
Video games vs movies, is this valid? Indeed, the video game industry has taken a big junk out of the movie industry. The movie industry is faced with stiff competition as video games become more and more like movies. Will the sliver screen era come to an end now?
Is this the end of Hollywood? What do you like more? Which one: video games vs movies? Video games like Call Of Duty Modern Warfare make you feel like a movie hero in a movie world of adventure, and this is great fun. Video games put you in the story itself, a story that you are in control of. Now video games give me a feeling of power and excitement and that is hard to resist?
The dilemma for the movie industry is that a lot of games gives the player hours if not hundreds of hours of game play. So when do the gamers have time to go to a movie?
There, however, is still hope for the movies. It is only human nature to expect the worse, for example, when movies came out over a hundred years ago, people really thought that would be the end of reading. People thought that would be the end of movies, when TV came out. When Video game entertainment came out people thought that would be the end of TV.
No, the world never came to an end. How come? I don't think its surprising that the more people have the more people want. Mall developers think that more stores means more costumers, and they are right.
Video games vs movies? Don't try and compare them they are two different things. One is active participation, the other is a passive experience.
I believe that each give us different experiences, for different times of day or moods. I don't like being active all of the time. A video game is an active concentrated effort that gets the blood rushing, and is like partaking in sports. Traditionally movies are passive experiences, the light is reflected from the movie screen into your eyes, like the moon light. Movies are a chance to sit back relax and enjoy a story, like in the days of yore when we would sit under the moon light and tell a story. What does a video game offer, active participation where I can be a winner, a hero.
Now the real problem is not that video games are better than movies, its getting those gamers into the cinema again, and the way they do this by creating gimmicks like real 3D, or combining the film concept with a video game release. It is true that their might be less and less movie goers, but now we do not even have to leave the comfort of our home with VOD. If you like movie style video games that combine the best of both worlds this is it: Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2
